Sofidel
Sofidel S.p.A., founded in 1966 by Giuseppe Lazzareschi and Emi Stefani, is a holding company of a group consisting of more than thirty companies operating in the production, converting and sale of tissue paper.
After 45 years in business, Sofidel has become the second largest group in the European tissue paper industry by production capacity, with more than 930,000 tons per year and a turnover of 1,455 million euros in 2011.
Sofidel’s strategy has evolved through seven milestones, including the birth of Stefani and Lazzareschi Paper Mill, the entry into papermaking, the conquest of competitive spaces in Italy, the rebirth after the Soffass fire in 1988, the establishment of the Regina brand and the strategy of attacking the market leader Scottex, to internationalization and European expansion.
In 2010, only 25 percent of consolidated sales were attributable to Italy, thanks to an intensive internationalization process.
Innovation has always played a key role in Sofidel’s success, with investments in advanced technologies and integrated production processes.
Social responsibility is another pillar of the company’s philosophy, highlighting an ongoing commitment to environmental and social sustainability.
Corporate governance maintains a strong family component, with Emi Stefani as president and Luigi Lazzareschi as CEO, continuing to lead the company with a strategic and innovative vision.
