Space Holding Ltd.
Space Holding Srl (“Space”) is an investment company founded in 2013 by professionals with complementary experience in extraordinary corporate finance transactions and in particular in investment banking and private equity; Space’s mission is to support the development of Italian private companies with high growth potential that intend to list on the stock exchange in the short to medium term.
Space between 2013 and 2018 has promoted four Spacs – Special Purpose Acquisition Companies – investing nearly €1 billion in important Italian companies: FILA S.p.A., Avio S.p.A., Aquafil S.p.A. and Guala Closures S.p.A.
The 4 companies, leaders in their target sectors, were listed directly on the STAR segment of the Italian Stock Exchange thanks to the transactions promoted by Space.
Much of the funds raised by Space were used to underwrite capital increases of the four companies, strengthening their capital structure and enabling them to grow faster than their reference markets, including through acquisitions.
More recently, in late 2019, Space launched a new initiative in private capital, Space Capital Club, an investment platform in the form of club deals with an initial endowment of €200 million.
The goal of Space Capital Club is to bring functional expertise and financial resources to accelerate the growth prospects of target companies, in partnership with ambitious and potentially capital market-oriented entrepreneurs and management.
Space Capital Club has gathered the memberships of about 35 selected investors, which include, in addition to a major institutional investor, some of Italy’s leading entrepreneurial families.
Space Capital Club’s first investment was finalized at the end of 2020, with the contribution of capital resources as a minority partner, in Adler Ortho S.p.A., a biomedical company active in the design and production of high-tech orthopedic prostheses produced with 3D printers; Adler Ortho specializes in products for complex surgical implants, mainly on hip and knee joints.
After the first investment in Adler Ortho, Space Capital Club continues its activity of searching for excellent mid-sized companies in which to invest in minority or majority stakes in order to pursue its mission for the benefit of its investors.
